The North Face Joins Hands With Naomi Otsu To Present A New Design

THE NORTH FACE the Naomi Otsu Collection for International Women's Day

Just in time for International Women's Day, The North Face collaborates with graphic designer and illustrator Naomi Otsu (she/her) to create a new collection that optimizes performance specific to women's needs on the trail.

The North Face joins hands with graphic designer and illustrator Naomi Otsu to present a new vibrant print design for the outdoor exploration collection that celebrates women - just in time for International Women's Day.

Born in New York and raised in Tokyo, Naomi Otsu is recognized for her use of vivacious colors, intricate brush strokes and captivating illustrative interpretations of wild plants and characterized objects through a multicultural lens. Drawing from fond memories of outdoor adventures with her mother, Naomi Otsu translated the magical energy of explorations onto a canvas with lively prints of blooming flowers and spirited animals, symbolizing the innate beauty and power of women in the wild. Injecting this energy into The North Face's Outdoor Exploration collection, we bring the spirit of "love of the wild" and "never stop exploring" to life for women on the trail. This spring we see the hiking collection reimagined in Naomi Otsu's design, including jackets, shoes, pants, shorts and hat - presenting a complete gear for women on their outdoor journey.

The North Face VECTIV Escape hiking shoes feature a stable 3D VECTIV TPU plate and a flexible seamless upper, delivering all-day comfort wherever you roam. Equipped with The North Face's proprietary VECTIV innovation, the shoes bring unparalleled performance and stability so that every explorer can move forward freely in nature. Featuring DWR water resistant functions and hand pockets with secure zippers, the Printed Hydrenaline Jacket jacket is the ultimate outfit for the outdoors.

Exploration is in our nature. Immerse yourself in the wild and feel its power as you discover your own trail. The Naomi Otsu Printed Hydrenaline Jacket will be available starting March 8 at The North Face K11 Art Mall and New Town Plaza stores with more from the collection arriving this month. Shop The North Face Naomi Otsu Outdoor Exploration collection and ignite the love for the outdoors and unleash the spirit of women in the wild.

Venture "outside The Lines" At The North Face XX KAWS Pop-up In Landmark

Journey from the Summit in LANDMARK to Basecamp at BELOWGROUND in an
unexpected and artistic alpine adventure

#TheNorthFaceXXKAWS #thenorthfacehk #neverstopexploring

@thenorthfacehk @kaws

13 January 2022, Hong Kong - The North Face XX KAWS collections, the brand's first line of products designed with the legendary artist, has arrived in Hong Kong to blur the lines between on-and-off mountain performance and style. To celebrate this historic launch, The North Face unveils The North Face XX KAWS installation at the LANDMARK atrium - a striking display of art with an unparalleled mountain-inspired showcase in the heart of the city - and The North Face XX KAWS Basecamp at BELOWGROUND from 14-23 January 2022. Echoing the collection ethos to envision a world "outside the lines" using the brand's technical and iconic styles as a canvas, the adventure starts at the summit where the outdoors, art, and daring innovation meld into a sight to behold.

"The launch of The North Face XX KAWS collection is a groundbreaking milestone for the brand. The collaboration with KAWS, one of the foremost artists of our times, marks a signature moment in the history of The North Face as we work with a truly iconic talent to cross over into the modern art world and take creativity and design to the next level. We are proud to see the hybrid of peak performance and authentic style come to life for both on- and off-mountain. During a time when travel is restricted, we are excited to transport guests to a new realm as we bring this remarkable pop-up experience to Hong Kong, blurring the lines between art and innovation", says Nathan Chang, Head of Marketing, The North Face APAC.

The North Face XX KAWS Installation at LANDMARK

Upon entering the LANDMARK atrium, be whisked away to a snow-capped mountain landscape with a monumental 12 metres tall installation that dramatically fills the space from floor to ceiling. At the atrium apex, KAWS's signature "XX" eyes beam down to resemble the rotor blades of helicopters hovering above. From these propeller-like eyes, precious cargo - The North Face XX KAWS collection - is suspended gracefully as it descends to the summit below.

The fantastical scene unfolding in the middle of the atrium is inspired by real-life events. On 6th January, the brand unveiled The North Face XX KAWS collection for the first time in Changbai Mountain. It was here where The North Face sponsored《KAWS:HOLIDAY》to reveal the iconic art sculpture against a cinematic winter backdrop. Bringing the energy of this spectacular moment to Hong Kong, this first-ever pop-up at LANDMARK is the entryway for guests to immerse themselves in an extraordinary adventure.

The next step of the adventure takes place BELOWGROUND where The North Face XX KAWS Basecamp awaits.

The North Face XX KAWS Basecamp

A welcome sight for any explorer, The North Face XX KAWS Basecamp pop-up hosts visitors descending from the frigid mountain summit above. The entrance beckons with The North Face's iconic 2-metre Dome tent, a design synonymous with the brand's storied heritage. Guests can relive the adventure in the basecamp's showcase zone which screens stunning footage of The North Face XX KAWS collection unveiling and the《KAWS:HOLIDAY》installation at Changbai Mountain. A camping-inspired area also provides a place of respite, while the SUPPLY STATION is ready to serve as a popular pit stop that provides much-needed refreshment in the form of hot cocoa and delicious sandos.

Available for sale, The North Face XX KAWS collection will undoubtedly be the main attraction at this 1,900 sqft space as guests discover the diverse range of men's and women's styles as well as soft accessories.

The North Face XX KAWS Basecamp

Blurring the lines between on-and-off mountain performance and style, The North Face XX KAWS collection plays with perception and visibility, featuring KAWS' signature eye-catching, abstract patterns, and a bright, extensive color palette. The North Face Freeride collection, high-performance layers and outerwear designed for epic days on snow, gets reimagined with KAWS prints and reflectivity for peak performance and style on the mountain. The collaboration also takes The North Face Icons of Exploration collection to new levels, infusing new energy into the brand's most beloved and timeless pieces, including the 1996 Retro Nuptse Jacket.

The North Face XX KAWS Collection is available at the The North Face XX KAWS Basecamp pop-up at BELOWGROUND in LANDMARK from 14 to 23 January, and at The North Face K11 Art Mall Concept Store starting 16 January.

The North Face Launches New Concept Store At K11 Art Mall

A first in Hong Kong, The North Face at K11 Art Mall is now the brand's largest Asia Pacific store featuring both on- and off-mountain wear

2 December 2021, Hong Kong - Known for unique offerings designed for every environment from the natural wilderness to the concrete jungle, The North Face presents the best of both the mountain and the city at its new concept store in K11 Art Mall. Spanning over 3,800 square feet, The North Face at K11 Art Mall is the brand's largest Asia Pacific store that features both Mountain sports & lifestyle and Urban Exploration collections in a single location for the very first time. As part of the brand's Asia Pacific rollout, this first in Hong Kong store is a milestone that gives explorers the ultimate The North Face destination to enjoy an unparalleled product selection across on-and off-mountain collections. From the Icons to the Conrad collection - a tribute to the climbing legend - as well as the INVINCIBLE for The North Face "Metaverse Explorer" capsule, store visitors can now "Never Stop Exploring" from the mountain to the street.

"Our legacy was born on the mountain over 55 years ago to lead the world through exploration. This passion for the outdoors and for the pursuit of innovation has seen our products transcend into everyday life across the globe. Hong Kong is not different and with its accessible hiking trails and cosmopolitan cityscape the community has truly embraced The North Face. With our extensive mountain-to-city crossover appeal, Hong Kongers can relate to this lifestyle well - many are avid weekend hikers and stylish urban explorers in their own right and there is a vibrant community of professional adventurers," said Nathan Chang, Head of Marketing, APAC at The North Face.

"The new store in K11 represents The North Face's latest concept. We kicked off the season with our 'In Search of an Icon' collection campaign to awaken everyone's inner explorer with our iconic designs, and now we take the next step of our journey and set out 'In Search of Adventure'. Just as our products and consumers are in constant pursuit of the next great adventure, we see this new combined concept store in K11 Art Mall as the perfect location for us to start a new adventure to showcase the complete lifestyle of outdoors - both on & off mountain. K11 Art Mall attracts an energetic Gen Z crowd with a passion for art, people and nature, and we are excited to connect and contribute to this community with a new immersive store experience that offers the best of The North Face."

Spanning mountaintops to city streets in a singular store experience

Manifesting the brand ethos of exploration, the store comprises different zones bridging the mountain and the city with product displays and artistically designed spaces that invite guests to delve deeper into The North Face DNA. Creative artwork brings elements of the outdoors to the store to bring the core theme of exploration to life. To help set the tone with the store facade, The North Face engaged Hong Kong-based artist and outdoor enthusiast Peter Yuill to design and create a 4 x 3 metre permanent mural that depicts his favourite spot in the city for exploration. Peter also captures the Half Dome - the origin of The North Face brand - and Hong Kong's iconic Lion Rock for two outdoor panels for the store, evoking the epic thrill of exploration and expeditions.

Inside, the store features a dedicated space to host community events in the heart of the city. Purposefully designed to engage the local community, this welcoming space is ideal for visitors, creative talents and leaders to connect with one another over a shared love of wild places. As the store launches alongside the In Search Of campaign, this space is built to inspire the community to create more stories and form ideas for their next journeys.

Fashioned after The North Face's iconic 2-Meter Dome Tent, the Experience Pod presents an immersive LED screen exploration journey for guests to experience innovation in multiple dimensions. The pod pays homage to the original geodesic dome design that has set the standard for basecamp abodes since 1975.

Look fresh on and off mountain with The North Face’s latest FW21 collection

Conrad Collection - K11 Art Mall Exclusive

Former TNF team captain Conrad Anker is an icon of exploration in his own right and admired within TNF's Off-Mountain fanbase. This collection pays homage by featuring the Jolly Roger flag that he brings with him on expedition and an inspirational quote of his: "Hold fast, all storms pass." The HMLYN Down Parka from the collection was inspired by the original Himalayan Down Jacket, a fixture on Everest expeditions with a High Alpine icon that combines expedition-inspired styles with a strong, clean streetwear aesthetic. Available in Hong Kong exclusively at The North Face concept store at K11 Art Mall.

INVINCIBLE for The North Face "METAVERSE EXPLORER" Capsule - K11 Art Mall Exclusive

The culmination of a three-year journey, The North Face collaboration with INVINCIBLE, the Taiwanese streetwear boutique, has represented a huge milestone for both brands that elaborates on the imagination of the 1990s as a tribute to splendid retro fashion. After the widely praised exploration of the outdoors with "EXPEDITION" in 2021 and the imagination of music with "The Backstreet" in 2020, The North Face and INVINCIBLE introduces the limited exclusive edition FW21 capsule "METAVERSE EXPLORER". Blending the magnificence of futuristic style into classics from The North Face, INVINCIBLE conceptualizes the Metaverse by infusing colorful neon and dark inks that signify a brilliant galaxy hurtling into the future, along with a signature INVINCIBLE-exclusive version of The North Face iconic Half Dome logo. Available in limited quantities exclusively at The North Face concept store at K11 Art Mall.

Freeride Collection

Inspired by The North Face's streetwear collections, The Freeride Collection combines high-visibility colours and patterns that make a statement piece on the mountain. One of the most durable snowsports styles of the year includes the waterproof and breathable Dragline Jacket & Bib, which utilizes high denier fabric.

ICON Collection - Nuptse Jacket
